Sydney Swans make it four in a row
Sep 26, 2008 --
The Sydney Swans have won their fourth consecutive ACT AFL Premiership against Minor Premiers Belconnen .

The Swans went into the match as underdogs having lost three of their four encounters this year, including their only home defeat.  Belconnen dominated possession and territory for much of the game and threatened to run away with the match in the third quarter.  But Belconnen could not capitalise leaving Sydney with some hope going into the last quarter.

Led by captain Nick Smith, who was named best on ground, and well supported by Ed Barlow, Matt O'Dwyer and Jesse White, Sydney closed the margin to draw level in the final minutes.  Matthew Beckmans marked as the siren sounded, needing only to kick a point to register win, and did just that.

The final scoreline reading Sydney 11.4-70 defeating Belconnen 9.15-69.
